Born in 1950 in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. Coming from a family of ceramic artists, he studied under Yoshitatsu Yanagihara in the Department of Fine Arts at Nihon University College of Art. In 1979, he made his debut at the "Shinseisaku Exhibition" of the Shinseisaku Association. In 1981, he completed a master's degree in sculpture at Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music. He primarily creates sculptures using iron and ceramics, visualizing vague memories. Currently a Special Visiting Professor at Nagoya University of the Arts, he actively exhibits his works both in Japan and abroad.
