Born in 1986. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Crafts and Industrial Design. Based in Tokyo, she makes prints using plates based on lithographs. Due to the fragility of her original screens, most of her works are monoprints, which are not reproduced. Kobayashi's works demonstrate a return to the basic act of "seeing". She uses landscapes such as distant coasts and adjacent grass and stones as motifs and creates abstract images of them in her mind. Then, she combines the abstract images of objects near and far, inside and outside, to illustrate not just "things" but the very act of "seeing things". Her works are composed of simple lines and surfaces with subdued colors to create a tranquil image that naturally draws the viewer's sight and highlights the strength encapsulated in the object's essence, encouraging the viewer to engage in deep dialogue with the piece. Kobayashi's creations embody her deep insight into "the act of seeing the world" and youthful excitement.
